Golf Tempo and Grip Trainer Instructions
Use the molded grip to identify the proper positioning for your hands. You'll see that both of the "Vs" formed by your thumbs and forefingers will point toward your left shoulder. The Tempo & Grip Trainer was designed to set your hands in a neutral grip and trains you to keep your hands connected (overlapping or interlocked grip), which is critical in the swing.
The Tempo & Grip Trainer is a weighted golf swing trainer that helps you to do a couple of different things:
Stretch and Warm Up Before Practice or Play - Simply swing the Tempo & Grip Trainer for just a couple of minutes as a warmup. We recommend that you use a nice, easy, back-and-through motion to groove a good tempo. The weight of the training club will also help you to feel how your hands should drop into "the slot" on the downswing. By swinging with good tempo and a light grip, that slotted motion will be most obvious to the player. We recommend that you use the lighter weight setting for warmup by unscrewing the weight on the end of the trainer. We also recommend switching to rapid swings with your driver (your lightest club) after warming up with the Tempo & Grip Trainer in order to set yourself for fast body rotation when you play or practice.
Strengthen Your Golf Muscles - Whether it's keeping in shape during the off-season or maximizing your swing during the golf season, you can integrate the Tempo & Grip Trainer into your practice routine. You can swing the trainer for longer periods of time, again using good tempo and a light grip. In this case, you can use the heavier weight setting (with the weight screwed in) if you're comfortable with it, or work up to it as you get stronger. You'll find that it's more difficult using your arms to power the swing because of the heavy weight of the Tempo & Grip Trainer, so be sure to focus on using your lower body to power the swing. This will help you to shift your weight properly to your front foot, and will help you increase your swing speed and stay on plane.
