Bad idea. Holding the soccer World Cup in the United States would not be liked amung other soccer countries. Many European countries are all about soccer and wouldn't have anything to do with it being held in the United States, which isn't much of a soccer country at all. The European countries and great soccer teams like Spain, England, and Germany would be lowering themselves by coming to the united states to play soccer. Soccer overseas is much more prestigious than in the states, much less San Diego. Sure it would be good for the United States in getting more attention in soccer but the U.S. just isn't ready to be known as a superstar soccer country yet. The U.S. already owns everything else in the world of sports. Let the European countries have their soccer and hold the World Cup overseas.
